A guide to growing coriander seeds

Step 1: Preparing the soil or pot

  • Choose a deep pot with good drainage or a garden space with rich, aerated soil.
  • Mix in compost to provide nutrients and improve soil quality.

Step 2: Sowing

  • It is recommended to soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours before sowing to speed up germination.
  • Scatter the seeds on the surface of the soil at intervals of 3-5 cm.
  • Cover with a thin layer of soil (about 1 cm).
  • Water gently to maintain moisture.

Step 3: Growing Conditions

  • Place the pot or planting in a location with full sun or partial shade.
  • Keep the soil moist but not flooded.
  • Ideal growing temperature: 15-25°C.

Stage 4: Germination and growth

  • The seeds will germinate within 7-14 days.
  • When the seedlings reach a height of 5-7 cm, they can be thinned, leaving a space of 10-15 cm between the plants.

Step 5: Maintenance and Harvesting

  • Regular watering and keeping the soil moist.
  • You can fertilize with a mild organic fertilizer once a month.
  • When the plant reaches a height of 15-20 cm, you can begin harvesting outer leaves with sharp scissors.
  • If you want seeds, you can allow the plant to flower and ripen, then collect the dried seeds for future use.
